Adding Plants

Searching For A Plant

Search by scientific name, common name, or partial spelling. Results show the rank and the lineage, so you can tell Acer palmatum from a named cultivar such as Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' before you attach it.

Pick the most specific record you are confident about. If you know the genus but not the species, attach the genus — you can change it later without losing photos or notes.

Nicknames And Display Names

A nickname is what you call the plant day to day: "the big monstera", "Nan's rose". When a nickname is set it becomes the display name in lists and on map pins; when it is empty, the botanical name is used instead.

Acquisition And History

Record how a plant arrived — bought, propagated, gifted, divided — along with where it came from and when it was planted. Status tracks how it is doing, from thriving through struggling to lost, which makes it easy to review the plants that need attention.

Photos

Add photos from your library or take one on the spot. The first photo becomes the cover image, and you can promote any other photo to cover later. The free plan stores three photos per plant; Florafolio Pro is unlimited.

Photos upload when you have a connection. The rest of the plant record saves immediately, whether or not you are online.
